Who runs this service
DotNumberWatch is the operator of this site and the controller of the data described below. Write to info@dotnumberwatch.com about anything on this page.
What is collected
Looking up a carrier collects nothing. There is no account, no login and no tracking cookie behind the lookup form.
Asking for alerts collects three things: the email address you type, the USDOT number you asked to watch, and the page you were on when you asked. A one-way hash of your IP address is kept alongside them so the form cannot be used to flood our own database. The raw address is not stored.
Why it is collected
To send you the alerts you asked for, and for nothing else. The basis is your consent, given by ticking the box on the form, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who else sees it
Your address is passed to Brevo, which sends the mail on our behalf, and the record is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure. Neither uses it for their own purposes. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with the carriers you watch.
How long it is kept
Until you unsubscribe, plus thirty days. Every alert carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the mail and removes the address from the sending list; writing to us removes the record entirely.
Your rights
You may ask what is held about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or receive it in a portable form. One email to info@dotnumberwatch.com covers all of it, and we answer within thirty days.
Cookies
The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The anti-bot widget on the alert form is served by Cloudflare Turnstile and loads only on pages carrying that form.
The carrier data itself
Records about motor carriers come from the public registers FMCSA publishes on data.transportation.gov. They concern companies rather than private individuals, and this site does not add to them. Corrections belong with FMCSA, which is the only party able to change the register.
