What this service is

DotNumberWatch republishes public registers kept by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and, on request, emails you when a record you asked about changes. It is not affiliated with FMCSA or the US Department of Transportation, and it cannot register a carrier, file an authority application, or alter anything in the register.

What the data does and does not promise

Records are shown as the source publishes them. Fleet size, driver counts and mileage are figures carriers file about themselves on form MCS-150, and the register accepts them without checking; the site marks them as filed rather than correcting them. FMCSA republishes the files daily, so a record read here may lag the agency by up to a day.

Nothing here is legal advice or a substitute for a certificate of insurance from an underwriter. Decisions about tendering freight remain yours.

Using the service

Lookups are free and need no account. Automated scraping of this site is not permitted; the underlying registers are open to everyone at data.transportation.gov and should be read there instead.

Alerts

One subscription covers one USDOT number and one address. Alerts are sent on a best effort basis, and no delivery time is guaranteed. Every message carries an unsubscribe link.

Liability

The service is provided as it stands, without warranty of accuracy, availability or fitness for a purpose. To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for decisions taken on the basis of a record shown here.
